According to a spokesman of the PSQCA, on directions of Director General Abdul Aleem Memon, the special task force led by Deputy Director Asghar Ali raided different factories of famous tea, iodized salt, spices and other items at Raiwind road and Sundar Industrial Estate and found three brands violating standards and rules.
The famous tea brand was using Pakistan Standard logo illegally and the team seized huge quantity of prepared stock in the unit premises. The team also seized prepared stock of mustard oil and iodized salt of another two famous brands.
In Gujranwala, the team led by Deputy Director Asad Kirmani, raided at different super stores and seized huge quantity of stock of 12 famous cosmetics brands, barring them to stop selling these items over having no PSQCA license. In Multan, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur, the teams led by Assistant Director Zakaullah and Aqib Ali, raids at different super stores and also seized stocks of famous cosmetics and other brands.
The Director General PSQCA Abdul Aleem Memon said that only PSQCA-Licensed brands would be permitted to sale and strict action would be taken against all the illegal and sub-standard cosmetics and other items. He said that the department would try its best for protecting rights of consumer, and on information about illegal and sub-standard items, the special task force would act immediately.
